We also tried to create a house that can grow and adapt with the changes that life brings. The P.1 functions as a base modern unit. It is conceived for a single person or couple. It is efficient, affordable, yet spacious and playful. It can be used as a house, a guest suite, or studio. By adding one of our add-on units the base pod can be extended for extra bedrooms now or in the future. Covered and protected it allows you to reach the top dry and safely. The exterior siding is out of an open modern slat look to allow for a natural ventilation. The result is loosely based on the Charleston, SC, false porch entry. The main entry door leading to the landing is tugged underneath the second floor. This entry staircase unit is meant, however, as the base unit for an entry. It is meant to easily exchange for a custom designed stair that fits your specific site condition, or for a connector piece if you group a number of these modern pods together.
