Placing C.1 on posts - the C.2

Placing the C.1 on posts and turning it into the C.2 was structurally not difficult - all the framing and structural considerations for the first floor plan staid the same.  What changed was the area where the staircase of C.1 used to be leading into a basement.  We turned that space into a bedroom.  This made this house a perfect place for a couple that has a guest room to offer.  Or a bedroom for a child.

This would work especially well for older children, since this second bedroom is on the opposite end from the master suite and close to the entry.  With its own bathroom the bedroom is a wing to itself creating the perfect privacy and access for the not-so-empty-nesters.

Being on posts this modern house plan would be ideal for the beach or still as a mountain or lake cabin.  The posts can adjust to any sloped terrain. The entry landing is the only piece that your builder would have to adjust to the conditions of your property.

C.2 is a one story version of C.1 that sits up high on a set of posts. Since it does not have an open basement, we omitted the staircase and replaced it with a bedroom, turning this modern house into a two bedroom cabin that would be still perfect for a sloped mountain lot or a beach or lake lot where you would need an elevated first floor.

The amenities of this house plan match those of the C.1 with a large open floor plan and a gorgeous master suite wing that has a funky ZEN like bathroom connection.  Large decks and terraces as well as banks of 8 foot tall windows make this modern house plan ideal for beautiful views.  On the interior you will find exposed wood beams and curved open steel trusses.
