The Master Suite
The master suite for the L.1 contemporary home plan occupies an entire wing of this modern home. It is reached through a narrow glassed in breezeway that allows both views across a reflecting pool and the contemporary courtyard entry. The main space of the home encompasses a large sleeping area with a soaring open ceiling and exposed rafters. It nestles against a concrete retaining wall that starts in the courtyard, curves through the master wing and ends again on the exterior defining a private small nook on the far end. This nook offers the privacy needed for the grand shower that opens completely to the exterior through a large floor to ceiling window. A contemporary feature that allows you to feel as being outside while giving all the privacy needed.
This Japanese style elegance is extended by a large soaking tub that is placed centrally in the adjoining space amid a bed of dark smooth river rocks. A cantilevering counter and with integrated hanging cabinetry and two sinks extends passed a sliding panel and along the concrete wall into a dressing room with its own sink, access to the WC, a large walk in closet room and a coffee station.
Large windows offer magnificent views to the outside and clerestory light from atop the curving wall onto which the roof is resting.
A contemporary steel and hardwood staircase with open treads leads to a second floor and a master study. This space of the home also has direct access to the elevated backyard area.

The L.1 contemporary home plan is designed for a sloped lot or mountain property. It offers a grand style of living with flowing spaces and an open floor plan. Its contemporary version of a craftsman style home design gives this home a cozy feel. It is nestled around a courtyard, an open entertainment space that is partially covered by porch roofs and a soaring terrace that bridged the second floor to the upper backyard grounds.
The master suite sports open rafters and a Japanese style Zen bathroom and a large walk in closet room, as well as an upstairs study. It carves itself into the slope with a reflecting pool, a glassed in yet private shower and second floor access to the outside.
A residential elevator, two laundry rooms, a wine cellar and two fire places are a few of the many perks this house has to offer. A large bonus wing over the garage lends itself to be used as an entrainment party room or as a guest wing.
